Each Bay Area CAN university will host a local edition of the Battle of the Bands throughout the month of April, and winners from each campus will meet in San José to compete for the grand prize!

GRAND PRIZE: Perform at Shoreline Amphitheatre this summer!

The winning band will perform at the Shoreline Amphitheatre this summer as an opener for one of the following shows: Warped Tour with Sum 41 and All-American Rejects on June 26; Mayhem Festival on July 11, featuring Korn, Rob Zombie and more; or Dave Matthews Band on August 28, with support from Raphael Saadiq. They will also get their song played on the radio on Channel 92.3 . The first runner-up will perform as a part of the Left Coast Live music festival in June, 2010.

Music Industry executives will be judging the event, along with audience input via text polling. The Battle will be hosted by Teddy & Chris from Channel 92.3.

Halo Custom Guitars will be raffling off a brand new custom guitar to one lucky audience member. Local Downtown San Jose businesses will be offering discounts the night of the event. Save your ticket stubs for specials at Fahrenheit, Britannia Arms, Vodoo Lounge, Tres Gringos, and San Jose Bar and Grill.





Bay Area college campuses are joining forces to create a network of students and campus organizations that will coordinate, promote, and execute a variety of entertainment events throughout the Bay Area.

The mission of the Bay Area College Activities Network is to initiate, support, and encourage interaction and cross-collaboration among Bay Area college campuses and students. Bay Area CAN is a valuable guerilla marketing outlet as campuses participate in grass-roots marketing of events at all eight campuses, potentially reaching nearly 200,000 college students. Our goal is to create entertainment events by students and for students. The following universities are involved in Bay Area CAN:
